Ants

Have an Ant Problem?

How to get rid of ants and keep them under control!

By grabbing a can of insect spray and spraying the ants, you have only killed those that you have sprayed. What about the millions of ants still in their colony that you haven’t sprayed, you guessed it they come back to haunt you in a couple of days time.   That solution doesn’t work!

Professional pest controllers previously used, and some still do, a repellent chemical like a Pyrethrin. This will stop the ants from crossing the barrier made by the chemical. However if a spot has been missed, or the chemical is washed away, then the ants are able to get through. This was a very common method for treating ants over the last 10 to 15 years, however the treatment was generally only effective for a week or so and sometimes did not really work at all.

Recently a new chemical has been developed that is effective in controlling ants. This chemical has proven very effective at destroying termite colonies, and has recently been registered with Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority for the treatment of ants as well. What makes this chemical different from the usually methods is that it does not kill the ant quickly. Instead the ants walk through the chemical and carry it back to the colony, once they chemical takes effect it results in the destruction of the entire colony. This is known as the ‘transfer effect’ A treatment with “Termidor” and its transfer effect has proven very effective in the treatment of ants.

Recently it has been shown that  “ Termidor”  is able to kill ants in their colonies, and remain effective for 6 months or more.  It is a requirement that “Termidor” be applied by a licenced Pest  Technician with a Queensland Health licence.

Nature Fresh is able to treat Ants with Termidor. Because the chemical has proven so effective, we now offer a 6 month warranty on all Ant treatments.
